It’s True Blood Day!!! HBO has been running an encore presentation of True Blood Season 2 in preparation for the big season 3 premier this June. For fun, I am posting two of the minisodes that have been airing after each weekly episode. They are not part of season 2 or 3, they are just fun extras that the cast and crew put together for fans, so enjoy! I am posting the teaser for the minisodes along with my favorite so far with Eric and Pam. I can’t help it, I’m an Eric fan all the way.
Day 5: Bad Things Rule

I love the minisodes. I think it’s a great way to countdown to the premiere of the new season. I’ve read the first 3 books of the Sookie series for a reading challenge and I just recently decided to give it up. I can’t get into the books and I think it’s because I watched True Blood before reading the series. Prior to True Blood, I’d never heard of Charlaine Harris or her vampire series (gasp!). I know; I can’ believe it either. The entire time I was reading them, I kept comparing it to the show. I know, not fair but unavoidable. I’m one of those people who loves True Blood but don’t like the books.
I’m looking forward to Alcide in season 3. The guy playing him is so sexy! We need some more warm blood hotness on True Blood! RIP Eggs.
This is the first time I’ve seen the minisodes. As for books or movies: Especially since season 2 they’re hard to compare as they’re very different. I still think I like the books more, but that’s because I love reading just a bit more than watching tv.
+1 I think it is a fantastic idea to build the hype for Season 3 to spend the waiting time with new minisodes. Unfortunately as I live outside the US I haven’t been able to see them as they haven’t been released here yet, but hopefully soon. I think it is extremely hard to compare the books and the series, I almost treat them as completely separate things. I’m really curious to see the new season 3 and Alcide. Of course one of the best things about the series is Alexander Skarsgaard and I also love the actor playing Jason and Sam and the actress playing Jessica.

I liked the mini-episodes. I’ve only watched the first season from netflix, because I don’t get HBO. The books are in my TBR pile.

I agree that the books and the tv show are so different it is hard to compare. I’m glad I read the books first but I say that about almost everything. Still I am really impressed with the way they have done the show, keeping the essence of the books while creating something that can stand on its own and isn’t a complete rehashing of the stories we already know.
